A 20-year-old man is in fair condition today after a New Year's Day shooting in Daytona Beach.
Alphonso Lucas, 20, was shot in the head, shoulder and back near an apartment complex on Mason Avenue. He remains in Halifax Health Medical Center.
Antwaun Thompson, 22, was shot in the left thigh. He was treated and released.
According to police, both shootings are related and happened in the same area. Both men are from Daytona Beach.
Police were called to the scene around 3 a.m. when someone reported smoke coming out of a red sports utility vehicle.
Officers arrived and saw bullet holes in the SUV, but the shooting victims had already gone to the hospital.
