GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Officials say 82 Alachua County inmates have been quarantined because of a possible outbreak of chicken pox in the jail.
Jail spokesman Eugene Morris said authorities began taking precautions after the first suspected case of the virus was reported Friday. Officials believe two other inmates might also have the virus.
Morris says tests have been inconclusive so far. Officials expect to know the results of more tests by the end of the week.
Until the test results are back, authorities will continue to isolate the inmates.
